Case Study on the Company Working Strategy for Dependability

Question: Discuss about theCase Study on the Company Working Strategy for Dependability. Answer: The five-performance objective of the company is decided on the following basis: Quality- The company has targeted to improve its quality and has become ready to meet the demand of most demanding customers. They are producing mirrors for branded cars like Jaguar, supplying 420 permutations on a daily basis. Speed: they have taken 10 years to improve their quality and now has become efficient to produce products in a high speed. Dependability: they are dependent on the teamwork of the company. They believe the strategy of co-ordinating and working with the best production. Their income is dependent on the quality product produced by them. Flexibility: the company has become flexible and has thus made the change to bring a new phase to their product. The result is already seen in their sale. Cost: the cost effective procedure of the company has given them a direct entry to the international market (Chenouard et al 2014). The production type used was mass production that produces products of high volume and low variety. The product is same for all products , there is very less variation or no variation for this product. These types of production are cost effective for using specialised labours. The company emphasized on the need to increase their output, reduce lead times and increase flexibility. The management had identified the areas where they had to stress on for bringing the best from it.the manufacturing process was consisted of six main stages of fabrication, welding, frame machining, painting, fitting and quality audit. They used these steps to maintain a line balancing in the manufacturing process. Their main objective was to achieve a balanced line and enable a smooth flow of the production. To measure the accurate timing of the whole process that hi-lighted the flaws of the management, they used a simulation model. This helped the team to understand their flaws and make necessary changes t o achieve their goal. They also maintained a separate team for hardwearing finish so that the during the process the previous processes are not hampered. (Jacobs and ABB Technology 2014). The strategies that were used to balance the time was a proper analysis and watch on the process, identifying the flaws, recovering the flaws. The company created a separate team to meet the issues faced and the extra time spent o the production. It took necessary measures to reduce the production times and increase the output (Zheng et al. 2015). The alternative strategies that the company might have taken were they could have kept an extra team only to solve the problem faced while completing each parts in production. They could provide an emergency service to the damage or defected areas. The economic downturn and credit crunch in the industry are causing a downfall in the industry due to which they have to reduce the price to the customers. The USA companies are targeting to reschedule the technology and introducing fewer employees with less pay. They saved the excess expenditure spent on the employees in lean seasons (Teeratansirikool et al. 2013). Thus they decided to reduce the expenditure and increase the sale by reducing the quantity of employees. This has helped the big organizations to save the money.
